| BristleWorms Wasn't really sure where to put this topic.
Today is the second day I have seen them in my tank. I was looking to get advice on how to get them out. Are there critters I can buy that will eat them, do the traps work..? Any advice would be appericated. If I wasn't freaked out by them I could just grab them, but I'm a pansy and they scare me lol. |

| Don't grab them! LOL. It hurts.
Bristleworms are generally beneficial to your tank. They are detritivores and function as part of your clean up crew. Sometimes, a sixline wrasse will eat them, but from what I see in your aquarium info it appears that your tank is completely stocked already. |

| Well I have no pics but have compared what i've seen to pictures on the internet and I'm fairly positive that's what it is.
I know my tank is stocked to the point I shouldn't add anything else... Hmmm. I have heard that they are okay to have in the tank, I'm just worried that I've seen so many of them, even durring the day. I was just looking at my tank again and saw more moving from under one rock to another.
I was thinking maybe trying the traps to cut down their numbers a lil |

You can make simple DIY trap too.
Post the pics once you catch them.
Have fun! |

| Why? I think they are as gorgeous as other Inverts or even cuter than some! LOL I never came across the true Fire. I think it wouldve been truly unique tank, that is if I can keep it alive.
Sea Hare (Letttuce)are very odd and unique. unfortunately needs specific diet/atttention for their longevity in captivity. |

| Sea hare = lettuce nudi? Those are super cool, but I never got one b/c of dietary considerations, like you mentioned. |

| I wanted Hermodice carunculata. I am in doubt that thes worms in the tanks are bristle worm but look alike. Google for all s/w woem and you maybe surpised to find many with similar appearance. But again, w/o pics, educated guess. |

| Mine looks like a caterpillar or better yet a centipede. It's white and looks kind of fuzzy. It also looks to be about an 1" long. I spotted it coming out of a small hole near the sand of a frag of purple polyps. I posted a pic, although pretty blurry.
Here's a link to exactly what mine looks like, it's the very first pic. http://images.google.com/images?q=sa...title&resnum=4 Last edited by MizRamzi; August 5th, 2009 at 10:16 PM.

| I dont think these guys will have negative effects on corals. Like I said, it may look alike but may be different species as I encountered few myself, but not the fancy one, which turned out to be other than bristle worms. Yours may be the one in the picture but I cant say. |

| Well caught some pics of the critters. Not great pics, but pics. Sooo are they bristleworms or something else?
The more reading I've done I think I'll leave them if they are bristleworms. From what I've heard now they are pretty good lil cleaners to have. |

| Yup, I've decided to leave mine alone too. It doesn't seem to be bothering anything and comes out mostly during feeding time. He/She's quit elusive though. Cool that you got some pic's. The minute I move to get my camera, it's goooooooone! |

| Mine are getting brave now... In the middle of the day, no feeding, three of them were out while I was cleaning the tank. I guess they are getting use to me messing around with stuff and know I won't bother them. |
