Quarantining Regal Tang, Hippo Tang etc.

Hey guys - first post, was unsure where to put this, but I thought here would be best as I'm a beginner to this topic, at least. Apologies if I've misplaced the thread!

This question's more out of my own curiosity than actual action at the moment, but would you guys be able to give me a guide on how to quarantine a Regal Tang (or whatever you want to call it, this just happens to be the name I've latched onto, haha - paracanthurus hepatus, I believe?)?

What size tank would the QT need to be? If I bought the fish, it'd probably be about 2" or less (before growth, of course), definitely no larger. Also - what filtration would I need for the quarantine tank, I've heard that it does not need to be particularly expensive. Finally, what symptoms would I be looking out for whilst quarantining this fish?

Any help, and general info is appreciated!

Hello and Welcome to Fish Lore. Above is a link concerning how to set up a quarantine tank that you may find helpful. Best of luck. Lots of good information here and friendly people.
I'm sure you'll get some more responses from salt water keepers soon.

What size is the main tank? A hepatus tang will need a minimum of 125 gallons at adult size. 150 or 180 gallons would be even better.

No size decided yet, but those sizes are certainly not out of the question. Won't be getting the tang for a good 6 months after the tanks started, they can be pretty expensive and it's a terrible shame to have such a lovely fish die due to the environment not being suitable. I'm pretty sure I can care for it once it's in the main tank, it's just ick/ICH and other problems that concern me - I've also heard that cleaner fish/shrimp are a good way to go?
