I caved...should've listened in the first place.

So, I wanted a FO tank. I was going to convert it later to a reef tank. After reading and looking through a lot of good info here I decided to buy the live rock now while my tank is cycling so I don't risk anything, mostly fish, later. I have a 55 gal with 45 lbs LR and 10 lbs of a fake rock (could part with it I love it). LR is coming Saturday and I will post new pics if anyone is interested in my album.

Thanks again for all the advice and information on here. I couldn't have done any of this without this site!!

Congrats on ur new saltwater tank. I started mine about 5 months ago and I love it. 75 gallon. i havnt lost one fish yet. I started mine with 4 yellow tailed damales about a week after I added the water and live rock. They were good fish to cycle the tank. They didn't have a problem with the spikes at all (although my tank did cycle pretty fast. I did have to get rid of th after I got more "keeper fish". Because they were too aggresive. Anyways goodluck with your new tank

Thanks. I am about half way through the cycle except that I just added all that LR so now I am not sure what will happen to my cycle now but I can wait if I need to. In SW fish keeping there is a lot of waiting

I've started out with a biocube. It's been cycling now for 11 days, no fish, only live rock, live sand and water from my LFS. Today all my readings are right on! Tuesday I'm going to add my first frag of zoa, and a neon goby

Good Luck with your new tank. I don't have any fish yet either but this is probably the most interesting project I have done in a long time. I love research and reading and this is my first summer without having any college classes (until Fall semester) so this is keeping me busy. I cannot wait until I get my first fish. I am almost there....almost.
