New to saltwater UPDATE

Hello, I'm setting up a 37 gallon saltwater fish only aquarium. I've read the information on setup and still have a couple of basic questions. Some people have told me that I still need some live rock in my tank even if I'm having fish only FOWLR?? Can I put some live rock in my tank without having to put in extra lighting? I really don't want the expense of adding the special lights at this point. If all goes well with this 37 gallon, I'm already thinking about my nice 75 gallon freshwater tank which I could covert to salt at a later date (as soon as I learn enought about taking care of the fish).

UPDATE: I just found the answer to my question about live rock and lighting.

You don't *need* live rock, but in my opinion it makes the tank much easier to care for, since live rock provides a ton of biological filtration, and does so more efficiently than filter media. Any live rock you purchase will not need extra lighting. The high intensity lighting you've probably seen in a lot of SW tanks is for the benefit of photosynthetic coral. Since you are setting up a FOWLR tank, you can use whatever lighting you have.
