Kent Marine Liquid Calcium and Iodine Dosage

Hello all,

After recently testing my water I am showing my calcium and iodine levels are low. Calcium level is running 320ml and Iodine is at 0.3. I am running a Fowler system with the following:

5 turbo snails
1 tiger crowie
2 conchs
1 peppermint shrimp
1 Fire Red shrimp
1 Blue devil
1 Rock Beauty
1 Ocellearus clown

Tank is 65 Gallons and has been running for about 4months now. Water 10%change is every other week.

ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 0.2

Ok here is my question.... I bought a bottle of Kent Marine Liquid calcium and Kent Marine Iodine. Problem is since I am currently residing in Japan the instructions on the bottle is in Japanese. I read japanese ok but my kanji (chinese characters) is limited. Anyway could someone please give me some advice on the dosage I need for the above setup?

The iodine dosage is 5 ml per 50 gallons. Calcium can vary depending on what your baseline calcium in your system is and how quickly it is being used up. Label directions say from 1.25 ml to 5 ml per 50 gallons in order to maintain calcium at 420-450 PPM.

Any specific reason for checking/dosing all that for FOWLR? I dont know what kind of salt you are using, but how about looking for better salt since I would expect salt mix to maintain proper level in a fowlr tank that's given frequent wc.

When you are done w/ Liquid Cal (I think mostly water in that bottle; low concentration), try Kent's Turbo Cal (dissove in water before adding: produces heat as it dissoves).

If its fish only with live rock, you really don't need to mess with iodine levels. Calcium as long as it is there will be fine for the snails.

You might be better of changing salt brand and/or doing weekly 10% water changes rather than every two week 10% WC.

I'm using Aquavitro's Calcification for my tank. It (along with limewater) has no problem keeping my calcium at 450 with my corals. 20ml every 3 days and a 1 gallon limewater drip at night.

Reason I am checking is because of my Shrimps and snails.....
