converting fresh to salt

hi all,
i'm going to convert my 29g from fresh to salt..... it's going thru fishless cycle now ..so my first question is should i let the cycle finish or should i start over
and what kind of equipment will i need besides what i have already which heater 1 aqua clear HOB filter and a marinland c-160 canister filter

It depends on how soon you want to change your tank over. If you want to take it right to salt, then just change the salinity and start the cycle over. The other route is to finish the cycle, then raise the SG by no more than 1.002 each week.

i need sand in here dont i.... what about things like liverock etc

If you get enough cured live rock, you won't have to do a cycle. You don't need sand if you don't want it, some people have barebottom tanks. I wouldn't use gravel though.

Hi, I would recommend a good testing kit - one thing you cant do without!
You'll need to test the saltiness/salinity/specific gravity with a hydrometer but you will also need to test ammonia, nitrates, nitrites and the pH levels. You dont need sand - you can get a huge range of substrates like crushed oral, shells, various gradients of pebbles, gravel etc Just google marine substrate! It's enough to blow your mind.
