2 Newby Questions...

1st off....this site is very education and helpful!! Thank You!!! I have recently decided to turn my freshwater tank into a SW Tank. I have a good home for the fish i have now....i want more beautiful fish. I plan on using about 55pds of live rock, and i also want to use live sand. How hard is it for a beginner to have live rock and sand...I know i'm going to start out with 2 clown fish. I was wondering what would be the best combo of fish to put with clowns. I don't care what kind of fish as long as they are compatable and Colorful. Thanks for any input in advance!!!

I just started my sw tank for the first time its not difficult just takes time. As for buddy's for the clowns there's lots of fish that would be compatible I'm getting some fire fish and those are supposed to be really peaceful so they would make good tank mates with your clowns. Really depends on what you like and its aggressiveness check on fishlores fish profiles.

Go on www.liveaquaria.com and see what you like. Come back here and tell us and we'll let you know if it's okay. There's plenty of things that will go with clowns, more than we can just list out here.

Welcome to the world of salt water.

Few questions, have you ever used medication in your freshwater tank? If so, you may need a new tank as it could be deadly for the inverts (crabs, snails, shirmp, etc). Are you planning on a reef, or Fish Only? The lighting you need will depend on what you're going for. Many people choose Fish Only tanks and convert them into reef setups later down the line.
