Hi and welcome,
Sorry you lost the tangs..
Tangs graze on the LR a far bit, how much rock is in the tank?
What food were you feeding them?

What size tank? Were you providing nori seaweed for grazing? What are the parameters of the tank? (note: "they are fine" is not a sufficient answer) How is it set up?

Ok, well first things first, a 55 gallon is far too small for 1, much less 2 tangs. Most tangs need 75-100 gallons minimum. Swimming back and forth turning around so much can cause stress.

Your PH is low, should be around 8.2-8.4. What brand of salt are you using and how often are you doing water changes?

Your alk is low, it should be in the 2.9-4.3 meq/l range.

Tangs are very finicky fish and prone to disease if not in the correct environment or conditions.

welcome to fishlore ,,
sorry to hear your tangs died but as pointed out above your tank is to small ,
tangs like to swim and swim fast a 5 ft wide tank is needed for tangs , due to there swimming habbits ,, they where proberbly stressed and refused to eat ,,
If you get problems with fish in the future not eating try putting food in garlic paste,
Please research your fishs requirements before buying...
