| No. All SW tanks go through an algae cycle. Just need to keep up with regular maintenance and wait it out. |

| Patience patience and more patience......In 2 days you got algae,2 weeks you'll be surprised what pops up,when it's fully cycled watch out. It will continue to surprise you for the next 6 months or more. I love LR.......Like travie said, patience. |

Keep your skimmer running, keep up with weekly water changes, and don't overfeed. There is nothing wrong with algae. You are shooting to have a form of algae covering your rock; coraline algae. |

| It is usually a pink or a purple, but can be a green. It won't be in the form of hair algae though. |

| If it is brown, it is most likely diatoms. You can stir up the sand a little to remove the look on your sand. |

| thats what ive been doing. when my tank cycles can i put crabs there and a starfish to clean up my sand on the bottom |
