| 15 Gallon Tank If I was to have about a 15 gallon tank, how many fish could I have in it? I was thinking of clown fish and maybe damsels? can they even go together? |

| No more than 2 fish in that size tank. Maybe a pair of ocellaris. Damsels are best kept in small groups, so I would not go that route in such a small tank. |

| Depends on size, but if you are going with smaller fish...say in the 3-4 inch range, you could do 4-5. |

| What kind are you thinking of? Ocellaris and percs stay small, about half the size of some of the other varieties. |

| Definitely Ocellaris, I'm so fascinated by them, i could sit there and watch them for hours and hours!!!
if i was to get Ocellaris would i get more than 2 in the 15 gallon tank? |

| In a 15 you could get away with 3, but my personal preference would be not to push it any further than that. There is no perfect stocking guideline, but I like to keep it to around 1/2" of fish per gallon of water for a SW tank. |

| okie dokie, i'll keep that in mind. at the moment i'm doing a FW tank and getting used to all that but soon i really want to do sw, even if i start with the 15 gallon and have 3 fish, i dont care, i just really want to start somewhere.
Thanks so much, you're very helpful. |

| Don't get let down w/ the stocking plans of your 15g tank, I have a 14g nano and my stocking plans are going to be a pair of false perc clowns and a purple firefish (I don't know if that helps w/ your stocking or not), and then of coarse a cleanup crew ads to the not so many fish, and then having the reef. The reef makes the tank imo everything in there is a living organism so to me after a while you will look at it and say oh, yea there is a fish in there as you are checking out the different reef critters, corals, etc.
I am going to turn my 36g bowfront into a reef after I get this nano going and get used to the saltwater stuff, and can aford the proper lighting, filters for it, I am going to use metal halides for the 36g tank. I have the biocube special power compacts which don't get me wrong can support corals, etc, but I want some strong bright lights for my 36g. |

| well there's an aquarium place here that has a very small tank (unsure of the size but know it's smaller than the one i want to do) and he has 2 clownfish in it and he said that there's not much you really have to do and it's much easier than fresh water. when i decide to do sw I will make sure i get all the right stuff. |
