Red Slime

I think I have red slime in my tank. It is reddish and has air bubbles in it. What causes this and what is the best way to get rid of it? Thanks

Red slime is a form of cyanobacteria. Contributors include light, excess nutrients (particularly phosphates), and low water flow. Here is a link that will give you some additional information.
