i'm thinking of getting a 75g tank and taking apart the 55 g i have now and turning it into a sump/reservior. this would go beneath in the stand. i live in an upstairs apartment and i wanted to know if this too much weight in one place and how do i find out if my floor can take the weight?

A 75g and a 55g together both weigh roughly 1300 pounds... I dont think most apartments are designed to hold that amount of weight, thats close to three quarters of a ton... which is like parking your car in your apartment (2nd floors in any house or apartment for that matter would not be strong enough for that amount of weight)
