My colleague at work asked me to pose this question...her husband has a 75 gallon salt water tank. There were three fish in the tank. Two died - the
yellow tang remained alone for a few months. Recently he purchased a brown-eyed tang and a blue trigger.
Since the addition of the two new fish he also cleaned the tank fully at the same time he added the new two new fish. The yellow tang has now stopped eating for the last week. He says his water parameters are on target. Yesterday, he tried feeding him a new favored tang food but he did not eat it.
Has anyone experienced this? What can he do to stimulate the fish's appetite? Is the tang showing stress behavior because of the changes in the tank?
Thanks...
