worm in substrate

i just saw a worm in my substrate while i was vacuuming. should i be worried?

That really depends on the type of worm. What kind of substrate is it and how old? What did the worm look like? Was it alive or dead? And--just checking--are you sure it wasn't a fish poop? That could look a lot like a dead worm

i have an arogonite substrate and its about 5 months old. it was alive when i saw it. trying to get back into the substrate like i'd expect a worm to. it was an almost redish color.

I once had a small pinkish/red type worm looking thing in one of my old saltwater tanks years ago. I was told by my pet shop that they were harmless and fine, but if you notice LOTS of them, you should remove some.

it sounds like a bristle worm google it and see if it looks same

If its a bristleworm, most are harmless - the small to medium sized ones. Most are just detritus eaters and will help the tank.
Its the big ones that you need to be worried about.
