black discoloration on tang

my goldrim tang is in quarrentine for 2 weeks now. he's eating ok and is very active. once in a while though he would rub against the deco or swim around in circles like he's chasing his tail. he also seem to have patches of black on his body. they look like spots, but are so close togther its kind of hard to tell. i'll try and post pics when i get home from work around 8pm.

here are some pic. the spot are really tiny so you have to look carefully. look closer to where the fins are at the bottom and top. they look like shadows too so keep that in mind.
