For a saltwater tank I would recommend cured live rock, live sand, a powerhead or two small ones, possibly a protein skimmer but you dont absolutely need it for that size (but I would put it on there personally). If you want corals that require high light, you'll need to get compact florescents or something like that.

The live rock and live sand will boost your "good bacteria" and be your major biological filtration of ammonia and nitrite. The powerheads move the water through the porous rock so that the bacteria can break down those toxins. The protein skimmer uses foam fractionation to remove dissolved organic compounds. Hope that helps!

Clownfish are a damsel And yes they do. But be careful getting damsels as they can be very nippy with other fish (striped damsels are underwater demons, imo). Chromis are the fairly docile. But they should be schools and I dont know if you have enough room in the 15 gallon.

I have a clownfish with a white stiped damsel and they are doing just fine they are like brothers!!
just a side note I think you might be on the limit of fish you can put in that 15 gal tank. if you add more fish the bio load will increase and it will be harder to maintain.

Goodluck!!!!

I see they answer every question except one(salt). If you plan on making it a reef Reef Crystals would do the trick. Also cured LR Is very expensive so uncured LR might be the chose. But your tank is small only needing about 15-30 lbs of LR. AS for light if reef get T-5s or metal hailds. I have T-5s and they do wonders. I even got some coral growing from the LR. I have one maroon clown and one three striped damsel and they are doing great. The clown just gets mad cuase the damsel follows him. As for your filter I put the rubble of LR into it. AS for skimmer I don't have one but i alot of LR for a 28 gallon tank(45 lbs) but it only looks like 22 and theres so much room left. I guess the LR helps keep everything good so I don't need a skimmer. I plan on buying a prim thou. Well hope your tank turns out great.

I didnt mean that striped damsels would be nippy with your clown. They should be fine with the clown. But they can be nippy with many other fish. I have a personal bais against them as saw one tear up and kill a beautiful coral beauty in a matter of a day. Obviously before we could get him out of there
