When does a tank become a reef tank?? Is it after you put in a coral?? If no then does a FOWLR contain corals??

We are reading a lot about SW reef tanks right now. I do know that a FOWLR does have corals.
Wait I have to edit my post. I was thinking of the method of setting up a reef w/o using a filter, the way you use powerheads, a chiller, and a protien skimmer.

A Fowlr does not contain corals.

no, I just edited my post. The fowlr is a fish only w/ live rock

Correct. Fish Only is just that. Add live rock and you have FOWLR. As soon as you put in a coral, you have yourself a reef tank.
