Question on mushrooms

Hello everyone!!!

I got this mushrooms from a friend, and I never had mushrooms before so I dont know anything about them, could anyone please tell what does the mushroom wants whenever it opens up( I took pictures of them) does that mean it needs to be fed? how do I do it? I have some food for them I bought cyclops (I think thats what its called) do I just put it in the water? or do I have to put it close to them? also while I feed them Do I have to turn the filter off so that It doesnt take the food away? I need help!!!! thanks!!

Mushrooms are pretty easy to care for. They get most of their nutritional needs through photosynthesis, though you can try to target feed using a turkey baster or something similar. Even though they are photosynthetic, many types of mushrooms have lower light requirements than other corals, so depending on what kind of lights you have, you might want to be sure it is down low in the tank, and possibly even sheltered from direct light.

Zooxanthellae hosted within mushrooms body supplies most of its nutritional needs through photosynthesis, it does require some supplemental feeding. Supplementing its diet with phytoplankton and food for filter feeders will help it stay healthy.
