New and needs some help

Last week, I set up the my first SW planning on fish/LR/(coral n anemes when

I can handle SW lol) dun have fish yet only LR in tank

Currently have 46G, water filter, overhead, 200w water heater, and about 10 to

15lb of LR. s.g. 1.022, pH 8.4, no ammonia/nitrate test set yet

Things I need to know are sand ( im not sure what kinds of sand would good)

because price is very varies from stores to store and after researching I can

justmake living sand from using rough substrates. secondly, I only have 10 to

15lb LR in the tank right now, and I know I need more and wondering ordering

LR from website is okay compare to going local store and buy it. Thirdly and

lastly, think I need protein skimmer sooner or later. Think AquaC remora gonna

my choice but I have no idea where to get it from.

Is there good online store to shop those equipment or buying from local

store(such as petco) is better? local store seems bit expensive.

thanks for reading my post and thanks in advance

First off welcome to fishlore.
Second, what kind of sand you get is up to you. I recomend a fine substrate, not gravel or even coarse agroget. There are quite a few fish that like to sift through the sand or lay in it, and too coarse of a sand will not allow them to do this.
Third, yes you do need some more live rock. I suggest another 50lbs or so. Ordering on line or purchasing in a store are both ok options. Either way you will need to recure the rock when you get it. This is not an issue since you do not have any fish yet. I purchase my live rock in a LFS. The price is good and this way I can pick out the exact rock that I want.
Fourth. When ever possible I buy from a LFS. Even if it is a little higher in price. If we do not buy from them, they will stop Existing, and a online source will be our only option. "Petco/Petsmat" are not LFS. In time with going into your LFS you will build a repore with the employees, wich will help you greatly in the long run with your tank developement. Lastly you will defently need to get a salt water test kit. There are many good ones out there, Just don't get the ones that use test strips, they are very inacurate.
Feel free to ask as many questions as possible. The only stupid qustion is teh one you don't ask!

i like to believe that whatever is in the live sand is going to help with your cycle since most of these brands are advertising "instant cycle!" with their live sand. my 55g somehow cycled in a week when i had a lot of live rocks and 50% live sand. i'm not sure if it helped, but i like to think so.

i would also suggest buying live rock from the LFS since you'll get to pick out better pieces and save on shipping, even 10lbs is expensive to ship.

for the aquac remora, go on ebay. i bought mine for $165. there's 2 different guys on ebay that sells it for the same price with 1000+ rating.
