Help!!!

We having one heck of a time getting this tank of ours settled in. My dad has threatened to give the tank away!

1) The skimmer is not producing foam that goes into the catch cup. It makes foam but to that much to go into the cup on top of itThe skimmer is a euro-pro in sump model.
2) The water level is low in the sump, which is making the the skimmer to make noise.
3)We are trying to hook up our auto-top off and I am fighting with my dad as to where the water line goes. In the tank or in the sump? The top off is made by Tunze.

So any help would be VERY HELPFUL!!
Thanks

I can't fully answer #1 but the skimmer may take a few days before it really kicks in.

#2 and #3 are related. The water level won't drop in the tank. It drops in the sump. That's where you'll need to hook up the auto top off. And you don't want the water level too low. The skimmer needs the water level to be at a certain level to operate efficiently. Also if the level gets too low, the return pump will start pumping air back up into the tank.

Good luck Andy.

andy65, like Oil_Fan said. The skimmer needs a constant water level to operate correctly. What's why people section off their sumps. Each divider has a certain height. You need to search euro-reef's web site for that height, than raise your skimmer to match that height. I would guess around 6" - 10". What model do you have ?
Question #1 ... You will also need to adjust the stand pipe to get the micro foam level higher in the inner tube. This is how you wet or dry skim.
