I am wanting to start a reef tank and I am looking to find a good book for loads of information. Is the "saltwater for dummies" book any good? Just any suggestions of a good starters book... thank you!

I wouldnt recommend that book... ive never owned it or read it but ive heard that it leaves out a lot of information....

the one i do own.. and would recommend is...
"The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" by Robert M. Fenner
430 pages.. and it goes in debt with everything... i really liked it.. itll cost you around 30$.. you might be able to get it cheaper... im pretty sure that if you could get it for cheaper if you get it on ebay...



what size tank are you looking to get?
any specific fish you want to keep? What i would do is chose a fish to be the centerpiece of your tank... and build around it..
what type of corals are you interested in? This question is important... because it will lead you to what type of lighting you will need.

I am going to get around a 55g, I really can't have anything bigger. We already will have before we get this tank a 90g mbuna cichlid tank and a 55g peacock cichlid tank (moving our peacocks to the present cichlid tank).. so space is an issue...
I am in the "research" phase I want to read all I can about the marine tanks before I choose my fish, corals, and such. I don't want to just pick a fish because of the "looks". We only spent a month picking out the fish for our cichlid tanks... but we knew about freshwater before we started...
I would rather plan this one out after I researched and knew about all the choices I had...especially for the tank size.
