First, welcome to fishlore. What size of a tank do you have? What are your other plans for the tank? Do you want live rock? corals? etc? These are all major factors.

Currently, is that the only fish in there? Do you have any inverts? What type of damsel is it?

I don't know which clown, but according to the chart on Liveaquaria, it says they will be fine, but I haven't done it myself. I have one of those damsels and a goby in my tank.

It can take up to a few weeks, but if you have garlic guard for them, and you mix it with the food, you won't have to worry about it not eating.
