Salt or Fresh

I just bought a Top fin 55 kit and i think it was ment for freshwater but would it make a difference if i used salt thanks guys

it wont really make a difference. you just may want to get a canister filter for it instead of the HOB that it comes with. and all the salt and test kits and other equipment you will need(i.e. protein skimmer and powerheads) to set up a saltwater tank.
