its super easy to set it up. Money is the only obstacle . Maintenance is an every day deal it isn't like freshwater where you can go a month between water changes (depending on the saltwater setup it may be possible) my 24 gallon tank has cost me over 500 dollars and i still haven't added any fish. But technology has made saltwater fish keeping a lot easer than it used to be. If you have the money to spend i say go for it but do a lot of research first.

Yeah, what Wolfgang said. I'll have nearly $3000 invested all together on my 55 reef when it's all said and done not counting supplements and salt. With the technology they're easy to setup and run with proper daily maintenance. I change about 50 gallons a month at $30 dollars for salt plus water. So they have a higher maintenance cost than a freshwater tank also. Time and money are your 2 biggest concerns with saltwater.
