Hi,

How does one remove encrusted salt from cabinet door fittings?

Ditto. Vinegar works great. It'll take on hard water spots too.

Thanks guys. Well I left them in there overnight but the vinegar also ate up the coating. No worries though as I wanted to try and save them before deciding to go and get some new handles. The previous owner was just very careless when handling salt.

I think I should have used White Vinegar instead of the Apple Cider vinegar we had afterall that is what I use to clean any used tanks I aquire before setting them up; then I hose them down with water.

Oh well, I'll know better next time

On glass any vinegar work well. I wish I'd taken a picture of the handles after soaking them in the vinegar so that y'all could see how I ruined them but I just trashed them.

No, I went to Lowes and got some matt black ones - nice yet simple - for 97¢ each. To replace the original handles with another set of chromed fish-styled ones would have meant special ordering them - something that would have made the missus mad
