plants in saltwater tanks

Ok im still in the starting of my tank, just getting everything together and trying to learn everything so i get it right but i have read in some places that real plants are better but like always i also have read that its better to go with fake for cleaning etc. but thats not what this is about. How hard is it to have a tank with a few plants; im not talking like a tank full but enough to make a nice scene. Anything special about plants that i should know? i am talkin about a 55G and there MIGHT be coral(i dont think in the very start)

HAPPY THANKSGIVEn

had to get them all(like a big family)

Real Plants are better. They filter your water. chaeto is best, because it cleans the most, same with culpera, but Culpera will most likely be eaten by tangs and rabbit fish ect. Chaeto tends to get a little ugly in the display though, it loks like a mass of fishing line.

I tend to like Shaving Brush Plants and Mermaid plants. They are single stock plants and are not invasive. Culpera grows on runners so it's invasive, chaeto wont attach to anything.

Plants wont be a problem to corals, but if you go with culpera then make sure you keep it well trimmed.

This'll probably sound silly but can Seaweed be grown in the home aquarium?

Yea, I beleive kelp is seaweed isn't it?

You can grow any plant in a tank, it's just some might get invasive.

Cool !! Now my brain is a tinkering with ideas

If I do try it, I'll keep it trimmed or might invest in some veggy eaters
