no matter what i do,change water slowly drop the salinity, itry to get my water around 1.022- 1.023 but it always jumps to 1.025 or .026 and stays there any suggestions on what i can do? i have 30 gallon with powerhead and hang on filter.

As water evaporates from the system, the salinity will gradually rise as a result. You can counter that by pouring fresh water back into the system.

i havnt set up a tank yet but i would have to say just keep addin fresh water and it should work.

To lower the SG, remove some of the saltwater in the tank and replace it with RO/DI or distilled water.
Try half a gallon at a time. Then test the SG again.

I had a similar problem and I just replaced some of the water with salt fee RO water and it came down.
