| Absolutely not true. You can make the argument that clowns require an anemone in the wild to shelter them from predation. In an aquarium, however, there are no predetors for the clown to worry about, and so the anemone is not needed. In fact, there are a few people out there who advocate never keeping anemones in an aquarium because 1) they don't have a great survival rate, and 2) taking them out of the wild reduces the numbers available to shelter wild clowns who really do need them. Bottom line...you are perfectly safe keeping occellaris with no anemone. |
