Stocking List:)

Hey all,

MTS has hit me

Me and my dad are looking intensely into a Red Sea MAx 250

It holds 250 litres.

Click Here for the official RSM website.

Here is my stocking idea:

2 or 4 x Bangaii Cardinals
1 x yellow tang (Maybe)
2 x Maroon/ Occelaris Clownfish

Any more ideas tfor a 250 litre tank?

Any ideas for a Clean Up Crew and how many of each?

Thanks Alot,

Matt

I say add three bangii cardinals. I've heard that odd numbers work best. Seems ok to me. You can add the yellow tank. He'll have enough room in a 64 gallon tank. As for CUC. I don't really know, but 10-20 turbo and other various snails, 30-40 various crabs, and a starfish(sand sifter) would be good. How much does it cost??

Looks like a pretty penny but a nice all in one setup. I would still be skeptical about a tang in a tank that short, they are tall fish and like the up/down room as well as length (4ft is the minimum length) but it would be okay for a while. I have heard the even/odd thing with cardinals too but have never seen any reason, just the info repeated over and over.

Maroon clowns get big and mean so keep that in mind if you want one or a pair.

Okay i wont get the maroons but i will get 2 occelaris clowns.

I will go with the 4 bangaii's and 15 snails and a few shrimp.

Thanks Alot,

Matt

I will get a small yellow tang and when he gets too big i will worry about it then.

Any other fish recommendations or coral recommendations?

Thanks,

Matt

I would also stick with an odd number of cardinals unless you are just getting a pair (male and female). A small yellow tang will be fine for a few years, but I think fish should be housed in the homes they will live in, not moved around as they grow as it's only stressful.

You could get a wrasse or two as well: flashers, fairies, etc, see what you like, they'll provide a lot of movement and come in lots of colors.

Chromis are still one of my favorites. First the price tag, they're $5 a pop here or 5 for $20. They school and look nice. I only have 3 right now but I'd like to add a few more as soon as the 90 is set up and switched over.
