I'm looking to convert my freshwater tank into a nano marine tank. I have a 5 gallon tank, and after reading lots of information, and it not all being consistent, I have some questions about filtration and stocking.
Would
live rock be enough, I've heard that about 1 lb per gallon is the right proportion, is this correct? If I put in 10 lb's would that be enough filtration or would a protein
skimmer be required as well?
I have an existing internal filter which I can use for water movement.
All I planned to put in were a pair of clowns. Perhaps adding a suitable
anemone for the clowns at a later date, when I can afford the new lighting system?
I've also seen this book: The Nano-Reef Handbook by Chris R. Brightwell and was wondering if anyone has used it and thinks it a sound investment.
Any advice or tips would be useful.
Thanks
