new with a 29 gal tank

Hello and want to pre thank everyone for the pre-help I will recieve. I am a newbie to the fish keeping in most accounts. My sisters have all had there goldfish that they won. I watched them die in a few weeks..

Lately I have taken on responsibility of the 2 newest tanks in my house. 1 being mine, housing a razorback musk turtle. The other with a few simple freashwater fish. I recently got a really good deal on a tank that I am going to most likely move my turtle to. I want to make a saltwater tank out of the 29 gal that is housing my turtle. I am looking for some pointers on were to start.

I am going with FO or FOWLR. I was hoping to have a couple either cardnels, or damsels to start.

i would start with the damsles they are quick colorful little fish that are great for saltwater beginners. although i do want to warn you that keeping a SW tank is much more work than a FW expecially if you want to have live corals. just make sure you know what your getting into.

I was reading and quickly realized what I was getting into... Still not sure what way I am going. I want saltwater but I def think I might just do fresh water until I have more money coming in... I just wanted to see what other people would have to say.

yea I think I am going to go with fw manly cause I am a little tight. I dont think I can afford the live rock, and all when I already have everything for the fw. Thanks for all the help and in site I have found on this site. PS I dont want guppies cause my turtle tank is being overwhelmed by how often they breed. Apparently he is not fast enough to catch them.

midnightwolf, i was looking on petco's website and was wondering if i was going to go with salt water which live rock is better, Fiji premium or could i co with a Caribbean. Also what is a good price per pound on live rock. Cause at one LFS they are selling it for 5.99/lbs.
