My advice to all newcomers into the world of saltwater: You should start with reading one or both of these books before you even start thinking about buying equipment or setting up a tank: the new marine aquarium; Step-by-Step Setup and Stocking Guide, by Michael S. Paletta or The conscientious marine aquarist: A Commonsense Handbook for Successful Saltwater Hobbyists, by Bob Fenner are about the best two books to buy on how to setup and maintain saltwater tanks. They will teach you a lot.

Research, patience, and top quality equipment, are the main keys to a successful SW fish tank.

That is excellent advise and exactly what I did (I have both books) Although I did learn the patience thing the hard way. Of course it was kind of that way with my fresh tanks as well. The only other thing I might add is maybe go a little bigger on the tank. Maybe a 24 or 29 nano.
