I have a 39 gallon salt water aquarium with about 25 pounds of live rock and 30 of sand. I'm thinking of making a 10 gallon sump/ref. Is it worth my time? Was think of using a 10 gallon glass aquarium. Anyone have plans on how to build it yourself

I probably wouldn't waste time with a 10gal. 20gal up maybe. By the time you put all your baffles in and pumps and stuff and lower the sump level down to half the tank your looking at like a 5gal sump. Not worth it IMO.

I have seen it done though. All you need is a couple baffles (glass or acrylic) and some tubing to run a return line and a drain.
