about setting up a quarantine tank

i'm still waiting for my equipment to arrive for my 55g and to get everything set up, i'm expecting another 3-4 weeks before an actual fish gets into the tank. in the meantime, can i set up a quarantine tank with some hardy fishes so once my 55g tank is cycled and ready, i can add the fish in asap?

I'm not sure what your asking, you want to cycle your q tank with fish?
Go fish less, it's the humane way to do it. You can use a peice of filter media from an established tank if you have one or have access to one. That will help seed the tank with beneficial bacteria. Don't forget to feed it with either fish food or pure ammonia.

Good luck.

A bit of info that I learned the hard way about a quarantine tank. When you don't have fish or other livestock in there, then the bio filtration dies inside of a few days or so.

What I started doing is keeping my sponge for the filter for my quarantine tank in the sump of my main tank. That way if I do need it, I can just move back into the quarantine tank not worry about any cycling. That way the bio filter on the media remains intact.
