I purchased an O'Dell 55 gallon fish tank in the early '90's. It has been absolutely perfect. Recently the light fixture has gone bad with corrosion in the end sockets. Is there a place that I can purchase another hood/light like the one I have? Or, if not, where can I get electrical sockets to replace the ones that have gone bad?

Try wiping the ends of the light with a paper towel with vinegar on it. I had a light with corrosion that would not light and the vinegar wiped the stuff right off. Online pet stores sell retro fit kits. I don't have any experience with those but you could check them out. Try Fosters and Smith. If it's a standard 4 foot 55 gallon any standard 48 inch aquarium light fixture should work.
