T5 Lights Last Opinion Before Pulling Trigger

I'm ready to upgrade my lights and retro fit my canopy with two of these kits. The top of my canopy opens in two sections. So I have to go with two 24" instead of one 48.

The real question is will these lights sustain my anenome and possibly a clam? I've heard Clams really need MH. However, I'm really getting the lights for an anenome and some other soft corals. Clams are last on my list.

Tank Specs: 100 gallons ( Length 5 Feet, Depth 18 inches maybe 22, Across maybe 18 or 16 inches)

And should I go with 2-24W 460 nm or with 1-24W 10000°K & 1-24W 460 nm bulbs? Does it even matter?

well, I know this has been a post and response with myself.. ha... but I installed the Nova Extreme t5 HO lighting into my 100 gallon tank. It looks great and so far hasn't raised the temp of my Aquarium during the day. Although, at summer time it may get warmer with higher outside temp. I'm now shopping for an anenome for my two clowns.

you should be fine with the anenome, the clams, at least in my opinion would be hit and miss. If you can get it to a point higher in the tank and it stays there, great, if not, it might not work too well.

How long has your tank been up and cycled? The reason I ask is because anenome are suuuuper sensitive and shouldn't be added to tanks younger than about 6 months.

If you're looking for something you can add right away that your clowns might host in, consider torch coral. My little onyx clown loves the torch coral and as soon as he was aclimated, he headed straight there.

I just purchased a green BTA with a reddish colored bottom. He was put in the tank a few hours ago and then I had to turn off the lights. My two clowns went over to check it out but they didn't go inside or mess with it. I suspect it will take them awhile to acclimate and host the anemone as they didn't tough the rose tip last time which I took out b/c of lighting issues.

My fish freaked out a little during the process. Even the shrimp came to check it out. Also, my tank is approximately 7 months old. Thanks for the tip though!

indeed. Anenomes will be added to my 90 gallon when the time comes, but in my nano, like I said, torch coral all the way. Orson loves it.

guys,

the anemone died. Per my post in the anemone section. He crawled all the way up to the overflow box and was half in and out. I pulled him out this morning. Pretty torn up. Parts of him may still be alive but I had to leave and go to work. I'm pretty bummed.
