help needed on metal halide! urgent!

please check these metal halide lamps and let me know if they would be good, great, bad, or terrible... Also if they will work please input any advice`you have or anything I would need to make them work. Also how many would be needed for a 100g tank? I would think I'd need more than one due to the concentration of the beam...

edit: oh sorry these are 400w each not sure on the kelvin temp.

These look like Mercury Vapor lights to me. MV isn't a popular choice among reef keepers because the light has a lot of yellow in it rather than the higher Kelvin with more blue in it that other metal halides have. 400w bulbs are even more yellow then 250w, and are difficult to get enough actinic's to wash out all the yellow. Do you have a photo of the ballast for this ?

The ballast is mounted... or did you mean like of the label? and they are metal halide I know that, not sure of the kelvin but they were whitish blue when I saw them running...

And since they are MH what about using the reef specific bulbs if they fit?

So that's the ballast attached to the reflector ? Can you take a picture of the label ?
