Rena XP2

I'm thinking of upgrading to an XP2 canister this week. Big Al's has them for $75, plus another 10% off through the weekend. Beyond the improved mechanical filtration (currently just running an aquaclear HOB), one of the main things I am looking to improve is my bio filtration, ala the later portion of this thread: Nitrate Control (Angsansoo's favorite)

Comments?

He wants to run SeaChem's De-nitrate in the XP2.

Yes, got that. What I don't understand was that last "ala" comment with my thread link. I'm hoping it was additional help and answers to my thread, but, if I don't understand the reply, it wont help me.

Sorry people! I'm blond at heart!

The XP series of canister filters is by far the best cannister filters, IMO.

Hahahaha... feeling stupid.

But, I kept reading that Eheim was the best. Now Rena is better?

I have had a better expereince with Rena, Eheim's have been more of a hassel to get primed and restarted.

What's primed?

Primed means getting the water runing thru the filter again, after the filter has been off, such as when cleaning.

Ah. Thanks. Sometimes less words makes communication more difficult. (That's my excuse for not getting familiarized with the dictionary)
