why is it that the brown alge went away but now the green has came and it keeps grown is that just part of the cycle or what. the tank is

Yea, I think it is pretty normal to go through an algae struggle as the tank matures. I am dealing with the same thing myself right now. Keep an eye on your nitrates, and keep them as low as you can, and really watch your feeding. Whatever your fish don't eat will encourage more algae. I am thinking about adding some macroalgae to my tank. It is kind of the saltwater equivalent of plants, though they are really a form of algae. They are more attractive than the nuisance algae though, and if the macroalgae gets all the nutrients, it can help hold back the bad stuff. In the end, I am not sure you can ever be 100% algae free...you just have to find a balance you can live with.

For future reference, would I be able to place macro algae (Turtle Weed) in the tank before it starts cycling? Would this help or harm anything?
