Green Algae

what are some causes of bright green algae on the glass? is it even algae? what are some remedies?

hmmm...i'd say somewhere in between. when i take my scrubber to it it kind of goes away as if i was dusting my piano...

I was thinking it was coraline algae. It's very hard, it flakes off the glass. If there green algae on your rocks, you might want to test for phosphates.

no green algae on rocks...just on the glass. i assume they sell phosphate test kits, right?

upon closer inspection of one of my rocks...i am noticing a tad bit of green coralline algae on one of my rocks...

Phosphate kits by Red Sea or Elos are good. I fact I'm buying the Elos kit this weekend. I don't like the API kit I'm currently using. It doesn'y read small enough measures of units. It's either no phosphates or too much by the first color change.

That is a complaint I have about the API one. You go from 0 PPM to .25 ppm but the colors are almost identical so it's pretty impossible to figure out if you 0 or some phosphates in the water.
