Fire belly newts and other fish?

I have a fish that was attacked by another, because it is too small of a fish. It is a longfin yellow danio. It takes a temp of around 65 to 75 degrees F. So, could it live with my newt until it grows a bit bigger?

what size is the tank, and is it a Japanese or a Chinese? the water level of your tank also matters, but Newts like cooler temps, and since your Danio has been injured it may be more easily subjected to ick.

Also newts create a lot of waste and toxins, and even with frequent water changes this could prove harmful for your fish.
