So I have a year old sulcata. And Ive been using mercury vapor bulbs (one brand and another) depending on availability and prices and such. So for the time being I'm going to switch over to regular uvb, not mvbs. But I'm unsure as to what bulb to get for him. Theres a few to choose from. Any sully owners around here? What do you use? Or do you just keep them outside?
I was thinking about using the 10 repti sun but I recently tried out the updated zilla desert series fluorescent bulbs for my bearded dragon and my mali and I actually liked how my herps reacted to them. They got a little livelier. Its hard to explain. So I'm thinking along those lines. What other bulbs you guys use? Not that theres THAT many options.
I'm not sure, I don't know anything about those. But I think it's safe to follow follow the manufacturer's recommendation, 3 for jungle animals, 5 for temperate, and 10 for desert animals.
They do have the bulbs custom manufactured, they don't rebrand consumer CFL's or something...so I feel safe in trusting that the lights are appropriate for the animals they say.
