Our first BD!

We'll be bringing him home probably next weekend! We're all so excited to have our first reptile. We found a beautiful 4 year old male from a local breeder and we got him for a ridiculously low price because he's only got 3 legs! He had to have part of one amputated last fall.

Once we get all the equipment and his tank set up, we'll go pick him up and bring him home.

Good luck with him, I have had a Bearded Dragon called Spike although he turned out to be a she. Bearded Dragons are a great reptile I have good memories of Spike.

Mail order live food is the best way to go if you are going to feed live food like crickets - will save you $

Good luck again and some pictures would be good.

Very nice looking guy.
Over the years, I have had about 20 beardies.
They are a great reptile and very easy to take care of.

Looking forward to seeing your new guy.

For now we have a tank set up for him but you would not believe the plans Andy has drawn up to build a multi-level vivarium. Its sweet!

I know the feeling.
I still have one of the room in my house half filled with 3 reptile cages.

This one was taken yesterday. He's in shed right now so his colors are dull, but he should brighten back up again soon. You can see his stumpy leg in this one.

I think I know why you name him like that because he is so red.

I am getting ready to go get him with my dad. I am a wee bit nervous about getting him.

I found a board that is all about dragons and they have been very nice and helpful. I know that there are some people on here that have had them to that I can ask if I need to. I will post pictures after he get used to his new home.

In the Philippines, they cost 5000-12,000 pesos

5,000-12,000 pesos = $100-$250 here in the US but we got him for much less than that because of his missing leg.

We brought him home yesterday and he is GREAT! Andy carried him home on his shoulder for the entire 1 hour drive home from the breeder. He's settling in nicely and has such a great temperament. I've never had a lizard before and wasn't totally sure what to expect, but this guy is wonderful. I'll try to get a couple of pics up soon.
