Identify turtle

Near my house there's a stream and I found this turtle.
Could anyone please identify this turtle please?

I don't know what it is but, it is an interesting looking little dude. Very cool looking shell.

Looks like a kind of Desert Terrapin. Are its feet webbed?

well that suggests that it may be a forrest, or desert terrapin. The Water might not be needed. What Heat scource do you have in it. I will do a search, while you answer my q's. sound like a plan?

No, I'm not trying to keep it. I just wanted to know the name of it and show you guys. It's a forest turtle cause obiously I found it in the forest near my house where there's a stream. It was setting next to the stream taking the sun.

It's definitely a box turtle.
Whenever I see one crossing the road, I stop and move it to the other side. I know is sounds like common sense, but I'll say it anyway. If you help one across the street, always take it to the direction it's facing. Otherwise, it might endanger it's self by starting the trek all over again.
You shouldn't keep it and I think in some states it might be illegal.
They'll eat raw hamburger and vegetables. They normally don't bite.

It could be Western,3-toed, or eastern box turtle.

It's definitly an eastern. I keep one myself that i got from a rescue organization.
