Is it ok to feed bottom feeder pellets to a red tailed shark?

Those wafers should be fine for any fish that will eat them. Like Butterfly suggested see if he will also eat the shrimp pellets. The more different types of food you incorporate in his diet, the better off he will be. And when choosing fish foods, try and get the types that don't have fish meal or that don't show it as their first ingredient. Fishmeal is not bad for your fish, but it's a filler and not very nutricious. Omega One flakes and pellets contain no fish meal, but are a little harder to find. Their products are sometimes available at your local PetSmart. If you want some and can't find it locally, try ebay.
