Live food?

The descriptions of RTS says that they eat live food. Does this include baby guppies? Out tank at work is over run with the buggers! While a friend wants some of the guppies to cycle her new tank, I'd just like something in there for popluation control. I miss my old RTS Rico, and was thinking about putting one in there. The only other thing I have in there is an otocinclus algae eater.

It may or may not eat the the live food, when I bought 2 green spotted puffers I bought 20 feeder guppies for them to curb their aggression instead they ignored the guppies and the guppies even bred! >.<

Well, we had a quiet community tank, and put three guppies in it. The original 3 are gone, but their progeny have taken over! With the teeny new babies born over the weekend, I'd have to guess there's about 60 of them in there! There are probably 10-15 young adults, the rest are fry...

Putting something in there to eat the babies is the only way to "break" the cycle! Having Oscars in the past, I don't mind the whole circle of life thing, but I dare not put an oscar in this tank as I've nowhere to put him when he starts to really grow!

if they can catch them they will...but the babies are super fast!! a 10 gal is small so he might not play nice with your lil otto

try to talk your friend out of using live fish to cycle...its not nice and they could die

where are the parents of the fry? they usually keep the control down unless theres a ton of hiding spots

I have one low plant on the left, 6" tall castle ruins thing in the middle and two tall plants on the right, in front of the heater. I can't say as they hide much! The tanks sits on my desk and they are forever begging for food...
