a red tail yet

i have a 29g tank with 4 juvy angels(hoping 2 get a pair) 2 guppies and a 2 inch pleco, would a red tail be ok to add to the mix? or should i wait till two of the angels are in another tank?

Um, I don't really have an opinion on when to get it, but I guess you should have the angels out first, just so that there aren't too many changes once the red tail is in there.

I'm not sure what the dimensions on your tank are but RTS like to patrol their territory so a tank that's at least 36" long works best for them. Ususally I would suggest a 30 gal long at the least but the bigger the better.

As far as stocking compatibility I don't think that Angels and RTS are overly compatible since Angles tend to be more slow moving. The Guppies wouldn't stand a chance once the RTS starts to be grouchy and territorial. They're too small, too slow, and too easy going to hold thier own. RTS's don't really like to share their bottom space so I don't know what would happen between him and the pleco.

Sorry that's just my take on it.

personally with the pleco already on the bottom of your tank i wouldn't risk the RTS, they're pretty aggressive, especially towards anything in "their" territory on the bottom of the tank

I have no problems between my RTS and pictus catfish. However, I recently added a chineese algae eater and the RTS has chased him a bit, but nothing serious.
