| red tail shark: Temperament / Behavior : These fish can be hostile and are not recommended for community fish tanks with smaller tropical fish. They seem to behave when kept with larger fish. |

| I think no. If your pleco only grows 4 inches long (I'm not familiar with the different pleco species, I'll leave that to someone else), and guppies are 2 inches each, that gives you 2 inches left, not enough for an RTS. And that's not taking into account a pleco's large bioload.
Ghost shrimp are fine, though |

| While the Red Tail Shark would be fine with those specific fish it gets six inches long and the recommended tank size is forty gallons.
The Pleco you have and the Guppys will be a fully stocked tank. Should be a pretty tank, we would like to see pictures when you get it up.

| I have a RTS with 3 neons, 1 molly, 1 guppy and 2 plecos (bigger pleco is about 6 inches). The only aggression i have seen in my RTS is when the the larger tetras swim by her cave/area. She never bites though. I have lost some guppies in the past but i think that's because of my angels nipping at them. I say go for it. They're neat fish and they swim backwards often which is fun to watch.
BUT after clicking your aquarium info and seeing that you have a 10 gallon tank, i would have to agree with Minnow about tank space.
But then again, after googling '10 gallon tank', it doesn't look as small as i thought it would be. As long as it's not cramped in there then i guess it's okay? |

| Sorry about your pleco. I don't know much about shrimp, but I would recommend that you look around the site for a while. There's lots of useful information that you can use to keep your fish alive for 10 maybe 15 years so you don't ever have to restock. |

Several ghost shrimp should be fine. |

| In a 10g tank, plecos are better off not being added. With ghost shrimp, its a good idea to get the live plant java moss for them, because they like to eat any food that falls into it. |

| i know but when i had my other pleco, the tank did fine, i do weekly(witch reminds me i need to get more test strips) tests for pH, nitrate, chlorine and all that stuff. so i think i will get: (in addition to my guppies)2 g shrimp and a bristle nose/lepord/or some knind of cool small peco.
ty for all the help it was greatly apriceated. rock on! |

| I agree, no pleco in a 10 gal. If you still have one, that's already asking a lot as far as bio-load. |
