What size is your tank?

Along with tank size, it would be helpful to know if your tank is cycled. What are the readings for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates and what are you using to test?
What other fish are in the tank?

its a 55 litre tank, there are buenos aires tetras, rosy tetras, guppies and a pleco

not sure about the ammonia etc.

Whenever there's a problem with your tank, the first thing to rule out is the water conditions.
Do you have a test kit? If not the API master kit is highly recommended.

What kind of pleco and how many of each of the other fish?

I don't know much about RTBS, but from what I've read, they can be aggressive toward their own kind.

With 2 RTBS's your tank is over stocked, especially if you have a common pleco, so I'd take a guess your water parameters are off.

Your tank is way too small for even one RTBS since the grow up to 6". Even in very big tanks you should have only one since they are highly aggressive towards each other.

What kind of pleco? Unless it's a very small dwarf variety, you won't be able to keep that either.

Is this tank cycled? How many fish are there? How often and how much water do you change with each change?

ETA: Ooops, I was typing while Lucy was posting!
