| Aggressive Red-Tail Shark My Red-Tail shark has been sharing a tank with my seven tiger barbs and three cory cats for three months. The barbs were the first in the tank and were very comfortable with the arrangement. Once I added the shark and cats, the tigers didn't mess with him or the corys, and vice-versa. Now, however, the shark is at least twice as big as the barbs and has become aggresive toward them. I thought that maybe now that the shark is bigger, he has become more aggressive because he needs more hiding spaces. He makes the barbs stay in a corner of the tank, even during feeding time, and if they come out, he chases and nips them. Two of the smaller barbs are missing the tips of their lower back fins, and the side-fins of most of the barbs have rips. Since my tank is fifty-five gallons, I assumed that space is not an issue. I am worried for the tiger barbs' health. If you have any suggestions, please help. |
